This piece is 60 by 13 inches. It stands on its own like a slightly open book. The leaf pattern adorns one side and the abstract wave pattern is on the other. I wanted to create a linear contemporary appeal.
The gentle leaf pattern speaks of delicacy and feminine grace.
I crushed Henna Leaves to create the lush green hue and spiral texture in the first few layers of the painting.
Some of the texture is inspired by the intricacies of the walls of Wilbur Theatre I recently visited.
The other side has unnumbered dimensions. It stirs up emotions at their extreme. Light or dark feelings, but at the very edge.
4 colors tinting and shading each other other. Mixed and made with each other as if they belong. There is a glow in the mauve strokes without the use of metallics. Each fold hand molded , the flow created to look random.
It had been my dream to create linear mobile art that doesn't need a wall to hang on!
